I thought I would look up some Valentine's day fun facts, to give me the good ole red and pink, hearts and flowery, kind of feeling...

Supposed Fact #1:

In the Middle Ages, young men and women drew names from a bowl to see who would be their Valentine. They would wear this name pinned onto their sleeves for one week for everyone to see. This was the origin of the expression
"to wear your heart on your sleeve."

Supposed Fact #2:
Many believe the 'X' symbol became synonymous with the kiss in medieval times. People who couldn't write their names signed in front of a witness with an 'X.' The 'X' was then kissed to show their sincerity

Valentine's Day superstition:
A girl can observe the birds she sees on Valentine's day to predict the kind of

another fun day and more fun people at the nss! you know you're having a good time when around 3pm, you start telling people, "we have offset note tags, boxed greeting wrap and letterpressed photos." or better yet, "our cards are 24 inches by 36 inches and double sided. would you like me to scan your line sheet and send you a badge?" talk about delirium! between the feet you can't feel, all the faces you finally put with names (we heart you and you and you know who you are!), and lighting that feels slightly warmer than the surface of the sun (seriously, i should wear spf if i'm going to stand in the back of the booth), we're having a great time and so grateful we have the beautiful faces below to share it with. it has been a true joy each and every minute of the day to make new friends, like the girls from papier girl, who are the recipients of today's award for best supporting role in long hair. you rock!

we've just finished decorating our table for this year's design inspirations event. we chose a red, white & byrd theme in honor of this year's guest speaker, laurie firestone, author of an affair to remember: state dinners for home. i think some people think we might be a law firm due to the use of the US constitutions as place cards, but it was a lot of fun and the look is easy to replicate for any event you may have. george doesn't have to be invited though...we can come up with anything for a great backdrop!

(just like our other favorite set of sisters, malia and sasha.) big sister maude and little sister iris attended the funny people premiere with mom and dad. or should we say mom and dad attended with them.
